Tractor Ride!

I don't have much on my bucket list, but one thing that I have always wanted to do was to drive a tractor. I don't have a big reason why...they just look really cool and I think it would be fun! :) Well...for mother's day this year, Jason set up a day where we would go to our friends farm and I would get to ride a tractor...pretty good gift! :) We brought Ryan, of course, since he is so into tractors right now. I warned him before hand that they were going to be loud. He was a little scared at first, but he totally got into it and wanted to sit on all the tractors. The farmer was so sweet to let us drive his tractors around...we had a blast! I'm pretty sure Ryan had the best time of all. :)

being taught how to drive...it's not nearly as hard as I thought it would :)

first time on the tractor

We were able to drive around the farm a bit :)

Me and my boy's first tractor ride!

Jason and Ryan got lifted up on the forklift...I wasn't too sure about that one :)

then they got driven around while in the air...made me nervous!

Once I got the smaller tractor down, we were able to drive a bigger one

Ryan wanted to sit on all the tractors!

sitting like a big boy all by himself!

While I was driving, he wanted to steer the wheel

Such a fun day!

Mothers Day 2012

I am writing this post with one hand (since Ally is sleeping in my other arm), so it will be simple and short. :) I had a wonderful mothers day! Jason made a beautiful breakfast, we had a great time at church and we had the Millers over for a dinner that Jason cooked! :) I am so thankful to be called mommy and for he privilege of raising two kiddos through the love of Christ. I feel so blessed to be on the journey of motherhood and only pray that I can be the mother that my kids need and that God will guide me every step of the way. I am thankful for those who have been an example of motherhood to me, and look forward to another year and watching my two grow and develop and trying to savor these precious days when they are so little. :)

Allyson Grace- 2 months

On May 6, 2012...Ally has been with us for 2 whole months! It's crazy to think of how little of time that actually is and how much our lives have been changed for ever within those few months. I honestly cannot imagine life without our sweet little girl. Our days are very busy and my hands are full, but in the best possible way. I have always dreamed of having kids, and with having 2, I feel doubly (not sure if that's a word) blessed. :) Ally is over all a very good baby. But I think part of that is that I am so so much more relaxed this time. She doesn't nap for very long in the day, but if I hold her, which I tend to do while Ryan is napping...she has napped for up to 3 hours. She has such a fun personality. She is so smiley, which you will see in the pictures. She is super easy to get to smile too, which is so fun. Her little eyes light up when she smiles and it just melts my heart. She has fallen into a more predictable sleeping and eating pattern this month, which has made things a little more easier. She also does really well at night...she usually only wakes up twice between 9 pm and 7 am to feed...which is wonderful! She has such an easy going temperament.

Also, this month, Ryan has really started to take an interest and interact with Ally. Just today, we went to go see if Ally was awake together, and when she was, Ryan brought her his lego tower that he had just built to show her. :) He loves to watch me change her diaper, and says; "yuck," every time, and also LOVES to help give her a bath. He is understanding that mommy needs to feed Ally quite often throughout the day and he generally will just play around us or try to make me laugh by being silly. He likes to burp Ally after she's done eating. He is such a good little guy...he's so gentle with her, and its fun to see how he reacts to her. Just the other day, Ally was crying and I could tell he was concerned, but didn't know what to do. So, he came over to me as I was holding her and gave me a hug and was patting my back. It was super sweet! I love seeing the compassion and tenderness that he has.

I feel so incredibly blessed to have two beautiful, healthy little kiddos. I also am so thankful for my super helpful, patient and understanding husband. Jason has been great with helping me while I am trying to figure out life with 2. He has been holding Ally in the late evening (around 9-12 or 1) so I can get some sleep without having to worry about waking up to Ally. It's amazing how just a couple of hours of sleep helps me get through the rest of the night when I am up every few hours.

Here are the pictures from Ally's 2 month photo shoot. As you will see, she is super smiley! She gets so excited when we talk to her, she's just so fun to be around!

she was getting really excited!

can't wait to hear her laugh!

I know I'm biased...but they are so stinkin cute!!

"What are you doing, Ally?"

I love this...and pray that they will be close and support and love one another always.

Easter 2012

What a beautiful Easter day we had! We were in Dinuba with Jason's parents and were able to spend the day with family. The Enns side got together at Grandma's house, had an amazing meal, and a great time spending time with family. The kids loved the Easter egg hunt, and it was so fun watching Ryan hunting the eggs! He was totally into it. Ally loved being passed around and just mostly slept the day away...she's such a good baby! Enjoy the pictures!
Easter baskets...I had too much fun putting these together

All dressed up in her Easter dress!

This was when she met Oma for the first time...she was all smiles!

He was so entertained by the eggs changing colors

Auntie Heidi helped him put on stickers

doing such a great job!

This is the best pic we got..kind of a little sad that Ryan wasn't looking, but I guess that's what you can expect from a two year old.

he wanted to give me a kiss...my sweet boy!

The newest additions and their Grandma's :)

Ally: 1 month

So, this is almost a week late...but my little Ally turned one month on April 6th! I would've written a blog sooner, but my little girl loves to be held and I love to hold her, so most of my time is spent doing just that and taking care of my busy 2 year old...and I haven't perfected the art of typing with one hand. We have also had our family staying with us and traveled up to Fresno for Easter...so things have been busy. :) Overall,  this month has been a crazy kind of wonderful! The transition from 1 to 2 kids has been easier than I expected and harder than I expected all at the same time. The easy part is knowing what to expect and being confident in myself, and also knowing how to care for a newborn. The hard part has been figuring out a new baby, and also dividing my time between her and Ryan. We have had some wonderful help from my amazing in laws, and my wonderful Aunt and Uncle, which has been such a blessing. And every day is different. It's going to take a little while for me to feel comfortable going out on my own with two...but right now with my little girl eating every 2-3 hours, we have been enjoying our days at home for the most part, unless someone is available to come out with me. We have made a few successful trips to Trader Joe's and Target, and that's good enough for me right now. I am reminded every day of how quick this stage goes by and I am doing my best to just enjoy it and relish in the precious time we have as a family.

Many people are asking how Ryan is doing. He is doing great! So much better than I had expected. He definitely has his moments of a little melt down when I am not available at that particular moment, but he is learning as well as I how to fit Ally into our lives. I am amazed at how quickly he is changing and have been a bit emotional about the fact that he is no longer a baby, but very much becoming a little boy. He is so sweet, cuddly, and fun to be around.

Well, here are a few pictures of Ally and Ryan on Ally's one month birthday.

Ryan really liked her sticker :)

having a conversation :)

Some 1 month stats:
weight: 9 lbs 10 oz (gained over 2 lobs in one month-whew!)
height: 21 inches (grew over 1 inch too!)
-she loves to be held! If I could hold her all day, she would just sleep. :) When she is put down, she takes little cat naps.
-she is a very good baby...hardly ever cries.
-her awake time is from 9pm to 11pm (Dad takes over at this time...I'm pooped by that time)
-she smiles a lot! (I love that)
-doesn't really like the pacifier, but we have been able to get her to take it when mom can't nurse every hour. :)
-she is so fun! We love our little girl!
-we are still so surprised by her hair...but have been noticing that it has been thinning on the top...so who knows, maybe it will fall out? To be continued.....

Well, that's all for now...we'll see if I can get the 2 month post on time...but I'm not counting on it. :)
